Frein Lazzara’s Magnetic Site Plans has redefined the way Auto Accidents are tried across the region. Produced for both Plaintiff and Defendant alike, attorneys find that the only real way to get the facts across is by a simplified illustrated diagram of the incident location. These exhibits show both the judge and juror alike the logistics of the accident.
Many differing levels of exhibits are available today. Exhibits range from basic enlargements of field sketches or police reports to scaled illustrative maps compiled from actual site measurements. Any depiction can be persuasive in the presentation of a witness’s testimony.
Frein Lazzara is skilled at providing the corroboration necessary for an exhibits admissibility: site investigation measurements, DOT FOIL research for drawings and competent testimony. Since 1994 Rob Frein has had remarkable success in getting every site plan he has testified to admitted into evidence. Procuring drawings from the locations governing municipality provides a solid base for a reconstruction graphic. Aerial photographs also prove indispensable in backing up the data obtained for trial. Frein Lazzara has at its disposal a catalog of engineered aerials dating back to 1957. An engineered aerial is an aerial photograph taken from a camera affixed to the belly of a plane that flies at a determined altitude which allows for a specific scale. Drawings and aerials dated prior to the incident will also confirm if any changes have taken place since the accident and will corroborate the field measurements taken. Through our vast network of litigation support services we also have the ability of obtaining vehicular specifications necessary to produce scaled vehicles and any other magnetic components necessary for the project.
We have aligned ourselves with the areas top reconstruction engineers, being hired by them directly or referring them to the lawyers we are hired by. Each has unique specialties and qualifications that make set them apart from their peers.
Being members, in good standing, of the New York Statewide Accident Reconstruction Society (NYSTARS), an organization of ground vehicle collision reconstruction professionals, who support and maintain a high standard of ethics, integrity and credibility in the field of collision reconstruction, and the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists, Inc. (NAPARS), an organization whose members share the challenge of dealing with the complex accident reconstruction while adding professionalism to the accident reconstruction field, adds to our credibility on the witness stand.
Site plan illustrations are not limited to auto accident cases; they can be just as effective in the recreation of floor or location plans for interior disputes as well. Procuring architectural or interior design drawings from the local municipalities building departments, or compiling field measurements from the actual location helps create interior floor plans.
